When the night is peaceful and the stars are beaming down, and the fire crackles and purrs (yes, fire purrs), and you’re in the semi-sleepy state .One of the best feelings, is poking a campfire with a stick but why do we do it ?
The reasons we are so entranced by fire are not well understood at a scientific level. Certainly, perpetual motion has something to do with it, along with it being a multi sensory and attention-focusing activity. It has even been shown that a fireside experience can be good for our health by lowering blood pressure. So in a way its a form of meditation . And it doesn’t matter if your at home sitting around a fire with friends or camping . There is only one person that tends to the fire and has that special stick they found to use as a poker . Or some even have a special poker they had made .
So why do we do it no reason really it is just a thing we automatically do and it helps us relax and helps us stop and enjoy the moment of the peaceful sound of nature and the of the fire .
