Continuing with the hiking series .I will tell you about the Valley forge hike. Valley Forge is the encampment site of the Continental Army during the winter of 1777-1778. You can either hike the trails or do a self guided driving tour that will take about 2 hours to do.You can also take a trolly ride as well. The hiking part which I did will take several hours the trails is mostly sidewalks and walking along the road. There are some spots where you will walk on a gravel and grass trail. You can start at the visitor center and the last time I was there you go in a room and watch a 15 min video telling you the history of the park and what Washingtons army went through . and after that you can start the hike. You will start by seeing some of the cabins. used by the army and there are few memorials as well.

A little history there were three National Boy Scout Jamborees held at Valley Forge: 1950, 1957, and 1964.And when you get to Washington's headquarters there is a train station there and the scouts would get off the train and they had to carry their gear to where their campsite was.
I hiked this multiple times when I was in the Boy Scouts we hiked it in the early spring and fall . Some of the photos are mine and the Boy Scout photos are from the national site.
